Who We Are
Founded in 1999, our club was established by a group of passionate individuals who shared a common goal - to provide young players with the opportunity to develop their skills and participate in polo tournaments.
Our founding members include players such as Dean Geddes , Jared Sullivan, Ryan and Brent Geddes, along with Davie Allen from the UK, Scott Heasley, Sam Radford, Andy Florence, Tom Radford, Sam Amy, and Sarah Hopkinson.
We will for ever be grateful to Peter and Mel Sullivan, owners of the famous Grouse Hotel in Lincoln, who generously provided funding through gaming machines to help us get started. Peter also served as our patron. Since our inception, Bryce Black has been our dedicated patron.
A special acknowledgement should be given to Dave Florence who constructed the clubhouse and boards, to the Hopkinson family for donating the scoreboard, to Dean for taking the initiative and bringing everyone on board, and to Judith & Jim Geddes, who owned the land at the time. It was definitely a team effort from whole families. Jim spent a lot of time on grading.
At Port Hills Polo Club, we strive to create a family-friendly environment where young players can thrive and make their mark in the world of polo.
